Sella Rice Processing Plant That Keeps Quality, Cost, and Output in Control

Every rice miller knows sella rice needs consistent gelatinisation and colour – or the batch fails the buyer’s standards. But most plants struggle with uneven cooking, colour variation, or machinery that demands daily maintenance and constant supervision.

The SKF Sella Paddy Processing Plant is a fully automated, all-in-one system designed to produce sella rice with international standards of colour, texture, and flavour – every single time.

Built entirely in stainless steel, it doesn’t rust, corrode, or degrade with heat and steam. The plant integrates soaking, steaming, and drying into a single flow, controlled through SCADA and PLC automation so your operators don’t have to adjust settings manually for each batch.

There’s no guesswork. Sensors, control valves, pneumatic gates, and moisture transmitters work together to maintain exact temperature, pressure, and moisture levels at each stage. The result is sella rice with uniform grain structure, optimal hydration, and a gelatinised finish that buyers can see.

Applications

The Sella Plant is built for rice millers who want to produce half or full gelatinised sella rice on a scale that matches market demand without the cost overheads of labour-intensive operations.

Whether you’re producing for domestic markets or export contracts, the system ensures your product consistently meets the buyer’s specs – without rejected batches, uneven colouring, or unpredictable output.

Advantages

Here’s why millers choose the SKF Sella Plant:

    • Fully automated operations reduce manpower needs and human error

    • SCADA integration lets you monitor every process live from a control room

    • PLC controls maintain precise settings for temperature, moisture, and pressure

    • Built entirely in stainless steel – no corrosion or rust issues

    • Produces rice with international standards of colour, texture, and flavour

    • Designed for continuous, large-scale production without downtime

    • Maintenance-free build lowers recurring repair costs

    • Faster processing cycle saves energy and increases output per day

How It Works

The process begins with paddy soaking, where grains absorb water uniformly under controlled conditions. It then moves to the steaming section, where precise temperature and pressure settings gelatinise the starch for that signature sella texture and translucent colour.

After steaming, rice is transferred to the drying section where moisture is reduced to the desired level without cracking or uneven shrinkage. Throughout this flow, PLCs and sensors monitor every parameter, ensuring consistent results batch after batch.
